about

a collection of semi-improvised songs recorded over the summer of 2011 on a friend's piano, a white upright Furstein, beside an old grandfather clock in a sun drenched living room in South London.

The recordings were made around (i.e. before, during + after) the pointlessness that was the London riots with "and this too shall pass" being recorded the morning after the worst night.

released June 8, 2023

composed (well, improvised) and recorded by me on a Zoom H4n beside the piano, in south east London.

tape remastered by Ed Hamilton

artwork (an illustrated reinterpretation of a photograph taken in that room some years later) by @lucianasalgadoartist

In memory of Ingrid Beazley, on whose white upright Furstein these* and many other improvisations were recorded 🙏

*except 'In Sunray Gardens' which was recorded on an upright piano in a house behind that particular park.
